Online Labs For Students…Just One Click Away…FREE ACCESS

The Online Labs is based on the idea that lab experiments can be taught using the Internet, more efficiently and less expensively. The labs can also be made available to students with no access to physical labs or where equipment is not available owing to being scarce or costly. This helps them compete with students in better equipped schools and bridges the digital divide and geographical distances. The experiments can be accessed anytime and anywhere, overcoming the constraints on time felt when having access to the physical lab for only a short period of time.
The features include:
a) Content aligned to the NCERT/CBSE curriculum.
b) Physics and Chemistry Labs for Class 9 and 10.
c) Interactive simulations, animations and lab videos.
d) The concepts and understanding of the experiment.
e) The ability to perform, record and learn experiments – anywhere, anytime, and individualised practice in all areas of experimentation.
The development of online labs includes the study and use of mathematical techniques to demonstrate the various complex functions in diverse areas of science. The labs make use of cutting edge simulation technology to create real world lab environments. Thorough study and research is done by research personnel for better understanding of the experimental procedures. Real lab scenarios are captured through live demonstration of the experiment so as to assimilate information on the procedures and lab equipment. Visualisation and development of the graphical symbols are done based on realistic situations and compared with the respective real equipment. Simulations are made interactive using various authoring tools, thus recreating and simulating a real lab environment.
The OLabs are hosted at

Saransh – A tool for connecting Schools and Parents

With a vision of “Improving children’s education by enhancing interaction between schools as well as parents and providing data driven decision support system to assist them in taking best decisions for their children’s future”, CBSE, has developed in-house, a decision support system called ‘SARANSH’.

Saransh is a tool for comprehensive self review and analysis for CBSE affiliated schools and parents. It enables them to analyse students’ performance in order to take remedial measures. Saransh brings schools, teachers and parents closer, so that they can monitor the progress of students and help them improve their performance.

‘SARANSH’, as the name suggests, provides schools/parents a complete snapshot and comprehensive drill down analysis to take actionable decisions. It helps to look at schools’ /students’ performance in scholastic areas at an aggregate level, and at the level of each student in the school.

It helps schools to compare their performance vis-à-vis all CBSE schools at various levels and also helps parents to compare their ward’s performance within school, state, region and National level. Saransh provides parents and teachers to have one on one interaction regarding their child’s performance and overall growth. Parents also get notifications from school/teacher on various activities and topics of interest.
